Non-resident tax in Menorca

Why it matters

Living abroad does not pause your Spanish tax.

Non-resident owners have Spanish tax obligations whether they rent their property or not, and missing them means surcharges and interest, not a friendly letter. We keep your filings in order and tell you what is due before it is due, so there are no surprises from the tax office.

How it works

ONE CONTACT FOR THE SPANISH TAXMAN.

You should not have to learn Spanish tax law to own a home here. We register you, keep every filing on time and tell you what is coming before the deadline, in Spanish and in English, so you can budget with certainty.

What we keep on track

Every year. Your IRNR return, and your rental and tourist-tax filings if you let the property. When you sell. The 3% withholding, your capital gains and the municipal plusvalía. The setup. NIE, tax registration and, where needed, a fiscal representative. (Exact rates and deadlines confirmed for your case against the official position.)

Part of the bigger picture

TAX NEVER TRAVELS ALONE.

Non-resident tax rarely comes on its own. If you are buying or selling, the tax planning belongs inside the transaction; if you rent to tourists, it sits alongside your licence. We join the dots so nothing falls between two advisers.

Frequently asked

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED STRAIGHT.

Do I have to file tax in Spain if I do not rent my property?

Yes. Non-resident owners file an annual income-tax return (IRNR, Modelo 210) even with no rental income. We prepare and submit it so you do not fall behind.

What is the 3% withholding when I sell?

When a non-resident sells, the buyer withholds 3% of the price and pays it to the tax office on account of your capital gains tax. If your actual gain is lower, we reclaim the difference for you.

What is the tourist tax and do I have to charge it?

If you let your property to tourists, the Balearic tourist-stay tax (ecotasa) applies per guest and night. As the host you charge it to your guests and file it. We set you up and keep it filed.

Do I need a NIE or a fiscal representative?

You need a NIE to deal with Spanish tax, and in some cases a fiscal representative is advisable or required. We arrange whatever your situation calls for.

Can you handle all of this remotely?

Yes. With your NIE we handle your Spanish tax without you needing to be in Menorca. Everything in Spanish and English.
